Scouts will learn to control VEX robots to move materials around and then design and implement improvements to the robot design, showing they have the skills required to use technology in the field.
Starfleet Officers regularly need to collect and test materials that are radioactive or may pose a biological hazard. It is imperative that to protect the health of the crew these materials can be manipulated remotely using robots until they are deemed to be safe for human contact. All Starfleet Officers need to be adept at operating robots so that they can avoid contaminating themselves or their crew with harmful substances. Basic skills in maintenance and construction of these robots is also essential in some field situations.
In this Academy training environment you will need to prove to your Mission Commander that your team can work together effectively to control robots to remove radioactive products from a designated area. You will also need to show that you can maintain, repair and improve your robot so that it is better suited for moving the specific materials encountered.
Test your abilities to control a robot by challenging another team to a tournmanet moving radioactive materials around. Work as a team to modify and improve your robot design to maximise efficiency.

Use Terrain to record your goals based on the missions you intend to complete during Star Trek: Survival for presentation to and approval by your Unit Council.
Complete any pre-work that might help you to complete the Mission, such as practicing using maps and radios, or doing research into particular concepts that missions mention that you may not be familiar with, or any other technologies or concepts you are curious about that might help you find success.
Complete the mission at Star Trek: Survival 2022.
Get your Starfleet Report Card from this website at the conclusion of the event to summarise your achievements. These accomplishments can be presented to your Unit Council for Project approval and recorded in Terrain to keep track of your progress.
