Using Radio Communications technologies and data input devices, Scouts will need to gather intelligence and feed it into a recording device to unlock the Academy's training systems for the course to proceed.
Welcome to Starfleet Academy's final training module: Survival. Upon completion of this course you'll be ready to beam up to the orbiting starship and begin your career as Starfleet Officer. Endless exciting adventures await you, but first, we need to ensure you're prepared to explore the final frontier. Usually the Survival component is completed in a state-of-the-art training facility, featuring anti-gravity modules, quantum computing terminals, immersive holodeck weapons training, and full-featured remote environment equipment support kits. However, due to upgrades and construction delays, the new facility is not available, so the course has been moved to Mafeking Rover Park, known for its harsh environmental challenges.
While moving this Survival course to Mafeking Rover Park, some of the access code modules fell out of our transport craft and were lost by our clumsy engineering fitout teams. As a result, we don't have access codes to operate the missions for the course, and require the assistance of the course participants (our Scouting recruits) to help unlock our systems in time for the course to start this weekend. Please follow all directions from your Course Instructors over the weekend. They can be identified by their Star Trek: Survival Lanyards, and are here to assist you in achieving as much as possible here at Mafeking Rover Park. Live long and prosper. 🖖🏽
As a Patrol, find each indicated Remote Communications Unit (radio, known as a RCU) and provide your Patrol ID to Starfleet Command. Await instructions from Starfleet Command, who will ask you to provide information over the RCU based on the intelligence attached to each RCU. Once confirmed that the information is accurate, you will be directed to a Security Intelligence Drop (SID) to provide the information directly into the Starfleet Database to unlock the relevant Starfleet Communications Systems for the course to proceed.
This activity is a RadioActiv8 wide game. Speed, accuracy, and distance will provide points contributing to the success of each Patrol. Results will be published at https://startreksurvival.tech/EncounterAtFarpoint for review and celebration.
Plan
Use Terrain to record your goals based on the missions you intend to complete during Star Trek: Survival for presentation to and approval by your Unit Council.
Do
Complete any pre-work that might help you to complete the Mission, such as practicing using maps and radios, or doing research into particular concepts that missions mention that you may not be familiar with, or any other technologies or concepts you are curious about that might help you find success.
Complete the mission at Star Trek: Survival 2022.
Review
Get your Starfleet Report Card from this website at the conclusion of the event to summarise your achievements. These accomplishments can be presented to your Unit Council for Project approval and recorded in Terrain to keep track of your progress.
