You will learn to control VEX robots to move materials around and then design and implement improvements to the robot design. For a further challenge you can also try programming the robots.
Starfleet Officers regularly need to collect and test materials that are radioactive or may pose a biological hazard. It is imperative that to protect the health of the crew these materials can be manipulated remotely using robots until they are deemed to be safe for human contact. All Starfleet Officers need to be adept at operating robots so that they can avoid contaminating themselves or their crew with harmful substances. Basic skills in maintenance and construction of these robots is also essential in some field situations. In this Academy training environment you will need to prove to your Mission Commander that your team can work together effectively to control robots to remove radioactive products from a designated area. You will also need to show that you can maintain, repair and improve your robot so that it is better suited for moving the specific materials encountered.
